Identity and the basic conflict between name and birthpath

People often ask the question 'who am I?' This a question we have been wondering about for millennia and it is a very goof question.

An identity is really whatever you identify yourself as. You either identify with your birth-path or with your name.

The first thing we give a new born baby is a name! Without a name, the child cannot identify itself as a unique individual.

The name is a gift.

To the Yantra yogi,  a person should be living according to one's birth-path, which is the blueprint for that individual's particular lifetime for this incarnation. There is no higher or lower birth-path! All that is needed, is for the individual to be one's true self, that means to live according to their birth-path, and for that to be one's identity.

But our name influences our identity. In fact, according to my teacher, the name is one's identity! think about it. if someone asks you 'who are you?', You would answer with your name.

Because we identify with the name, we become the name.

That is why yantra yoga teaches to make the name exactly in harmony with the birth-path. It will be right always and one is now aligned with the what one should be.

My teacher taught that the birth-path is who a person SHOULD BE, while the name is who the person IS.

When there is a conflict between the two, there will be confusion and suffering.

When they are in harmony, you get balance.
